2015 ISC Mar. 30 Mon. G18 singles

Didn't even know Ken was here! Should say hello before the match starts, once it starts I have no time! And, that can't be Ellah Nze???!!

Poking this on Fire 6 while I'm uploading pics on my SLOW laptop lol. Yesterday at Sushi boy pics were miraculously uploaded fast from the camera memory card to the laptop! Bless Sushi Boy? Lol.

Coach Bernstein of Michigan was early! Also NU asst. Coach methink? Along with OSU(Ok. St.), and both USC coaches...naturally congratulated both on the team's high ranking and chatted with coach Nott around 2pm! And, did coach Scrivano of BU come also? A guy wearing an Under Armour cap chatted incessantly..if he was, maybe he was proselytizing on the merits of 6 doubles games! Tireless PR effort, I'll give him that lol. EDIT; I think it was NU coach.

Also corrected the elderly umpire about the bowing custom in East Asia haha, chatted with another about the hot weather, and where's Lauren and her fig :sobbing: Marylynn back to her familiar umpire uniform!

And of course, Colette! Same hat, same sunglass(methink), basically the same attire! Her photographer partner was injured on his arm!! Still persisted in his 'duty'...hope it heals soon!

Darren Potkey wore a white polo one this time. And, was Shenay Perry at SB at night?! Not I was quite close to Coach Rinaldi and her ilk on several occasions!

Scores from ITF

1st Round

Dominique SCHAEFER (PER) 6-4 6-3 Anna DOLLAR (USA)

Just glimpsed Domi doing her usual thang at crt8, once slipped after performing it haha. That's not a bad score by Anna.

Ingrid NEEL (USA) [7] 6-3 6-3 Helen Abigail ALTICK (USA)

Ingrid is that rara avis, serve and volleyer. Persisted, verra good too, but Helen reacted reasonably well methink, passing, etc. And drove quite well, so harassed Ingrid a lot. Crt 5.

Amanda ANISIMOVA (USA) 6-2 6-4 Mia HORVIT (USA) [13]

Amanda was tall, taller than Mia, and her drives were quite sharp: that said, Mia's condition was dire :sobbing: Nothing was working.

Caty MCNALLY (USA) 6-3 7-5 Alexandra SANFORD (USA) [10]

Jenna FRIEDEL (USA) 7-5 4-6 6-3 Gabriella POLLNER (USA)

Katherine SEBOV (CAN) [6] 4-6 6-4 6-1 Ena SHIBAHARA (USA)

Rachel LIM (USA) 6-1 6-1 Sabrina FAYBYSHEV (USA)

Lim, lefty, drove quite well. Crt14, just had a peek.

Chiara LOMMER (USA) 4-6 6-1 6-3 McKenzie MAJERLE (USA)

Wow, what an effort by Majerle, mossed this.

Jessica HINOJOSA GOMEZ (MEX) 7-6(1) 6-4 Stephanie HAZELL (USA)

Same here, by Stephanie.

Caroline DOLEHIDE (USA) [8] 6-0 6-2 Meghan KELLEY (USA)

Meghan fought, drove well, but her volleys were again not working :sobbing: Caro, effective first strike tennis, scoring numerous winners including service returns. Small steps were very good too, so moved quite well for her size.

Ndindi Inziani MWARUKA (USA) 6-3 6-4 Tereza KOPLOVA (CZE)

Emma Christine HIGUCHI (USA) 6-1 7-6(5) Meible CHI (USA)

Only glimpsed the 2nd set from time to time, Chi attacked well so harassed Emma tons, but also committed errors after rallies.

Maria MATEAS (USA) [15] 6-7(5) 6-2 6-0 Andrea KEVAKIAN (USA)

Andrea is another competent retriever so thought the match could be long lol. Returned Maria's sharp drives very well, with pace even. But Maria's aggression eventually paid off.

Seira SHIMIZU (JPN) 6-4 6-1 Alana SMITH (USA)

Morgan COPPOC (USA) 3-6 6-3 6-3 Alexandra SABE (USA)

Glimpsed the 1st(MM was there) then watched from Morgan 3-0 lead in the 3rd. Did not help my schedule by wasting bps lol. Was surprised by Sabe's sharp drives in the 1st, but in the 2nd, she was a tad overwhelmed by Morgan's relentless aggression. But still could attack sharply, so I guess Morgan's defense also contributed.
Who was that guy wearing UNC cap, Zeke Clark? :)  He was at Claremont too. Whoever he was,  rooted for Morgan!

Sofia KENIN (USA) [2] 6-0 6-1 Mimi LEVINE (USA)
