2015 EB G16 SINGLES WED. Consolation

It's a pity these were played at MCC. Woodhaven would've been nearer, but I guess not enough courts? So didn't attend MD Quarterfinals, was too exhausted after visiting MCC twice already during the day lol.

Goulak and her dad came, so high fived her! :)

And SO~~~~ many Federer caps..Rafa, not one :sobbing:   Just says that Federer tennis style = romance, and hence, money as well!

(1) Grace Joyce d. Emma Decoste 7-5; 6-1

Grace was playing well, aggressively, when I watched a bit.

R2 (9) Janice Shin d. Caitlin Calkins 6-1; 6-1

R2 Clarissa Hand d. Jessi Muljat 6-3; 6-2

Jessi's condition was bad, nothing was working, too bad, was rather looking forward to this match.

R2 (16) Abigail Chiu d. Elena Van Linge 6-4; 6-4

Elena was actually outhitting Abi, guess Abi did well to weather it out. Did I say that Elena reminded me of a...who was it lol, movie star. Anyway later she wore a sunglass!
Didn't know her style that well, and after watching her play this tournament, she's definitely one of my favorite players! ;)

R2 Sydney Jones d. Jenna Moustafa 6-6Ret (inj)

Huh, missed this.

R2 Dalayna Hewitt d. (13) Madeline Meredith 6-3; 6-1

Finished too fast, only could watch the first portion, then had to watch other matches since I've seen both quite a bit by now.  When I hurried back, they were just doing a handshake :sobbing: Worthy of a main court match, Maddie you should've tried harder ugh, not a good tournament for her..well, she did advance to doubles final, so that's that.

R2 (7) Ally Bojczuk d. Stevie Kennedy 6-2; 6-2

Ally really is growing on me lol, today also boasted variety, coming up to the net a lot. Missed some, but it paid off I guess. Stevie wasn't bad, made some errors. Crt 2, right next to the above match.

R2 Andjelija Bozovic d. Madison Gallegos 6-3; 6-2

Crt 3?

R2 (11) Rachel Lim d. Caroline Dunleavy 6-3; 6-2

Just could glimpse a bit, seen them quite a bit, so passed.

R2 Katya Tabachnik d. Alexandra Belaya 6-4; 4-6; 7-5

What the...I thought Alex was leading lol.  Had to leave, to watch G18 MD singles matches.  But the match was rather entertaining, Katya wasn't bad at all, in fact showed quite a variety, and also could attack sharply.  Alex is another player who impressed me quite a lot during these Spring tournaments :)

R2 Rachel Eason d. Sophia Reddy 6-3; 6-3

R2 Ann Li d. (17) Maria Ross 6-7(4); 6-2; 10-8

Only could watch the last portion, too bad. Li was the bigger hitter, but Ross played well, patiently returned, watching Li all the time. Could suddenly up the pace and nail those sharp fh drives too.

R2 Jessica Aragon d. Kalani Soli 3-6; 6-0; 10-8

Like Maddie, a bad tournament for Kalani.

R2 (5) Nadia Gizdova d. McCartney Kessler 6-3; 6-3

Where was this match played?  Too bad I missed this, was looking forward to this match.

R2 (15) Meg Kowalski d. Jennifer Gadalov 6-2; 2-6; 7-5

Could watch from time to time. When I came from IW, Meg was already leading 5-2.  Meg was the aggressor, and could hit early and employed angles effectively, so Jen was having a hard time lol. Meg as in singles, could even lob well lol.  Jen's volley instincts are good as I've mentioned, but is Meg going to lose that battle, haha.  Meg did commit some errors after long rallies, so a nice effort by both, luv both players! ;)

R2 Alessandra Bianco d. Ivana Corley 7-5; 6-1

3Q (9) Janice Shin d. (1) Grace Joyce 6-0; 6-2

First match, had to leave to watch G18 doubles, consequently missed

3Q (16) Abigail Chiu d. Clarissa Hand 6-1; 7-6(4)

Wanted to watch this, too bad, Abi was waiting for the match start and was loitering around me..haha. Abi defeated both of my favorite players in one day!

3Q Dalayna Hewitt d. Sydney Jones 6-3; 6-2

Could watch the last portion, Sydney actually played decently, served well especially. Too bad couldn't watch her that much this tournament.  Last year she played against Mulville methink? At stadium 8 or something.

3Q (7) Ally Bojczuk d. Andjelija Bozovic 6-1; 6-2
3Q (11) Rachel Lim d. Katya Tabachnik 6-4; 6-2

3Q Ann Li d. Rachel Eason 3-6; 7-5; 17-15

This match was long, didn't watch though.  It's rather a bother to peer through those tarpaulins to watch these matches :sobbing:

3Q (5) Nadia Gizdova d. Jessica Aragon 6-1; 6-2 3

Where was this played, again? Lol.

Q (15) Meg Kowalski d. Alessandra Bianco 7-5; 6-1

Was actually rather impressed with Bianco, she was good!  Nice touch, and could actually attack effectively. It wasn't an easy win by Meg at all!
