UF at Cal. comment

Many thought UF would win lopsidedly, but I didn't think so. Cal. played NTI, UF did not. Cal. was battle-tested, UF, not so. And thought Cal. was similar in ability to UF anyway.

Score from Cal.

No. 1 California (10-0) defeated No. 5 Florida (5-1) – 4-3
Feb. 26, 2016, in Berkeley, Calif. Hellman Tennis Complex Doubles

 1. No. 7 Brooke Austin/Kourtney Keegan (Florida) def. No. 6 Maegan Manasse/Denise Starr (Cal) – 6-4
 2. No. 19 Josie Kuhlman/Belinda Woolcock (Florida) def. No. 52 Klara Fabikova/Olivia Hauger (Cal) –7-5
 3. Lynn Chi/Maria Smith (Cal) def. Anna Danilina/Brianna Morgan (Florida) – 6-4

 Florida won the doubles point

Competitive doubles match. All matches were tight, as you can see from the score. In fact I'm surprised Cal. #3 won the match. D/M were pretty good at Freeman(this Danilina has it all; both power and finesse).

Order of Finish: 3, 1, 2*
 *Clinched the doubles point

1. No. 12 Brooke Austin (Florida) def. No. 10 Maegan Manasse (Cal) – 6-3, 6-3

Who needs serve when one can hit so well like Brooke haha. Or did her serve improve :)

 2. No. 6 Belinda Woolcock (Florida) def. No. 5 Klara Fabikova (Cal) – 6-2, 6-0

The most surprising score for me. Because Klara is an excellent hitter. Did very well at So. Cal recently as well. I didn't note particularly noteworthy of Belinda at WAATC.  She's not the biggest hitter, although she is a good competitor.  Really surprising she's playing so well this season, from the Fall. That should be a huge boost for Florida, much like CVN did for UCLA in 2013-4.

3. No. 80 Denise Starr (Cal) def. No. 72 Josie Kuhlman (Florida) – 6-3, 6-4

Another surprising result for me. Josie lost to Krista at Freeman as well. Maybe Krista is back lol, but still, not even winning a set against Denise.

4. Lynn Chi (Cal) def. No. 30 Kourtney Keegan (Florida) – 6-7(6), 6-3, 6-3

This is not an upset.

 5. No. 96 Olivia Hauger (Cal) def. No. 88 Brianna Morgan (Florida) – 4-6, 7-5, 6-4

Brianna is definitely the bigger hitter. Did she implode. Is this Olivia's year lol. I actually rate Morgan Coppoc, another Tulsa native, higher than her. Probably better in every department..haha, we'll see how she does at UGA :)

 6. Karla Popovic (Cal) def. No. 67 Anna Danilina (Florida) – 6-1, 6-1

Another perplexing result. Sure Karla is good. But Anna has a huge game. She actually outhit Gugu Olmos, just that Gugu was a bit more solid, at Freeman.  And has excellent variety as well. Did she ball bash to the defeat haha.

 Order of Finish: 6, 2, 1, 3, 4, 5*
 *Clinched the overall match
