Brief comments on 2016 NIIC singles results

F (1) Francesca Dilorenzo d. (4) Hayley Carter 6-1; 6-1
SF (4) Hayley Carter d. (5) Astra Sharma 6-4; 6-3
SF (1) Francesca Dilorenzo d. Meible Chi 6-1; 6-2
Q (5) Astra Sharma d. Blair Shankle 6-2; 6-4

Q (4) Hayley Carter d. Viktoriya Lushkova 6-3; 6-2

Lushkova had one tough road lol, still managed to make the Quarterfinals.

Q Meible Chi d. Josie Kuhlman 6-2; 6-2

Definitely Chi's breakout tournament. Like sister, like sister(elder sis Lynn is NCAA finalist).

Q (1) Francesca Dilorenzo d. Sydney Campbell 6-2; 5-7; 6-1

Doubted Campbell was #1 singles material(she got double bageled by Collins last season but maybe C's just too good lol) but she did quite well.

16 Blair Shankle d. (2) Ena Shibahara 7-5; 3-6; 6-3

Shankle is a very good player(could've beaten Stefani at Oracle) but still a rather surprising result.

(16 (5) Astra Sharma d. Alizee Michaud 7-5; 3-6; 6-3

Michaud is another player who has been playing very well this Fall.

16 (4) Hayley Carter d. Maegan Manasse 6-2; 6-2

16 Viktoriya Lushkova d. Ashley Lahey 7-5; 4-6; 6-3

Lahey harassing Lushkova so much.

16 Josie Kuhlman d. (8) Jessie Aney 6-4; 6-2

16 Meible Chi d. (3) Luisa Stefani 7-6(6)); 7-6(13))

Meible like her elder sis Lynn is one of the flattest hitters out there. Must've been zoning in against Stefani.

16 Sydney Campbell d. Lily Miyazaki 6-2; 6-3
16 (1) Francesca Dilorenzo d. Karla Popovic 6-0; 6-4

32 (2) Ena Shibahara d. Camille Gbaguidi 6-2; 6-7(1); 6-1

G must be really good.

32 Blair Shankle d. Jessica Livianu 6-4; 7-6(4))

Livianu played well during her last junior year, and the result shows it.

32 (5) Astra Sharma d. Belinda Woolcock 7-5; 2-6; 6-1
32 Alizee Michaud d. Valeria Salazar 6-1; 6-3
32 (4) Hayley Carter d. Marie Faure 6-3; 6-0
32 Maegan Manasse d. Katharine Fahey 6-1; 6-4
32 Viktoriya Lushkova d. (7) Sinead Lohan 6-4; 6-4
32 Ashley Lahey d. Rima Asatrian 6-4; 6-1
32 Josie Kuhlman d. Aldila Sutjiadi 6-1; 1-6; 6-2
32 (8) Jessie Aney d. Andrea Dikosavljevic 6-3; 6-2

32 Meible Chi d. Alexandria Najarian 6-4; 6-4

Najarian is MIP candidate, well she was very good during juniors(had a fun match against Stewart at the National). Thought Higuchi beating her at the Winter National was an upset.

32 (3) Luisa Stefani d. Eleni Christofi 6-2; 6-3

32 Sydney Campbell d. Mayar Ahmed 6-2; 6-2

Surprising result.

32 Lily Miyazaki d. (6) Sara Daavettila 6-4; 3-6; 7-5

Another shocker.

32 Karla Popovic d. Ingrid Gamarra Martins 4-6; 7-5; 6-2
32 (1) Francesca Dilorenzo d. Claudia Herrero 6-1; 6-1

Consolation:
CF (6) Sara Daavettila d. (7) Sinead Lohan 7-6(3)); 6-2

No surprise both ultra solid players making the finals here.

CS (7) Sinead Lohan d. Jessica Livianu 7-6(6)); 6-1
CS (6) Sara Daavettila d. Aldila Sutjiadi 6-4; 3-3Ret (inj)

CQ Jessica Livianu d. Belinda Woolcock 7-6(6)); 6-2

We the 'gang' were shocked about Livianu's college choice last season lol.

CQ (7) Sinead Lohan d. Katharine Fahey 6-3; 0-6; 6-3
CQ Aldila Sutjiadi d. Eleni Christofi 6-3; 6-1
CQ (6) Sara Daavettila d. Ingrid Gamarra Martins 6-0; 6-3
R1 Jessica Livianu d. Camille Gbaguidi 6-2; 6-1
