Auburn at LSU result

A historical win(according to LSU)? Well UA was overranked...haha.

Scores from LSU;

LSU vs. Auburn
Mar 19, 2017 at Baton Rouge, La. (LSU Tennis Complex)

#27 LSU 4, #5 Auburn 3

Singles
1. #39 Jade Lewis (LSU) def. #29 Alizee Michaud (AU) 7-6(3), 6-4

Jade instantly grabbing the top position. And she wasn't even the best of the best among elite junior players.

2. #116 Joana Valle Costa (LSU) def. #71 Andie Dikosavljevic (AU)
6-1, 2-6, 6-2

I was wondering why JKC singles winner(defeated Olmos in the final) JVC was struggling this season so much; injury? Senioritis? This is not an upset.

3. #102 Taylor Russo (AU) def. #83 Ryann Foster (LSU) 6-3, 4-6, 6-1

What a debut season Taylor is having. NCAA doubles debut is a lock(currently #14 with Michaud)? :)  Can't relax until the end of the regular season!

4. Jessica Golovin (LSU) def. Alannah Griffin (AU) 6-4, 6-1

No surprise of course. Jess is still playing, while Meredith Xepoleas who defeated her at EB G16(was it semi or quarterfinal. Meredith also defeated Kaitlyn McCarthy en route to the final) has retired under 'mysterious circumstances'.

5. Georgie Axon (AU) def. Becca Weissmann (LSU) 6-4, 6-2
6. Roos van der Zwaan (AU) def. Abby Owens (LSU) 6-4, 6-3

Lost to AU lower positions? I thought Abby at #6 was a lock, is she also struggling from senioritis haha.

Doubles
1. #42 Joana Valle Costa/Ryann Foster (LSU) def. #8 Alizee Michaud/Taylor Russo (AU) 6-4

Not much of an upset imo. JVC is a proven veteran and Foster is a very good doubles player herself.

2. Jade Lewis/Becca Weissmann (LSU) def. #67 Andie Dikosavljevic/Alannah Griffin (UA) 6-1

'Becca effect'? Always excelled in doubles.

3. #38 Caroline Turner/Georgie Axon vs. Jessica Golovin/Skylar Holloway (LSU) 5-4, unfinished

Turner/Axon was ranked so high??! Good match against the Golovin doubles too, judging from the scoreline. Apparently AU doubles is good, even with Pleun Burgmans graduating.

Match Notes:

Auburn 18-4; National ranking #5
LSU 11-4; National ranking #27

Order of finish: Doubles (2,1); Singles (6,4,5,2,1,3)
