VU at UGA result; Emma doing well

Emma is one of my favorite players from the class of 2017(she came a year early), so glad she's doing well. I wrote here that I dared to travel to Mesa again explicitly to see her and Kessler in doubles action(and they did play well against the eventual winner Goulak/Shibahara. They're moving the venue to Florida so 2016 was my last Winter Nat.).

Scores from UGA(VU doesn't provide it separately, they embedded it in the narrative);

#14 Vanderbilt 4, #18 Georgia 2
Mar 05, 2017 at Athens, Ga. (Dan Magill Tennis Complex)

Singles competition
1. #5 Astra Sharma (VANDY) def. #62 Ellen Perez (UGA) 6-3, 6-4
2. #16 Sydney Campbell (VANDY) def. #15 Elena Christofi (UGA) 6-2, 6-4
3. #44 Kennedy Shaffer (UGA) def. Georgina Sellyn (VANDY) 6-3, 6-4

4. #41 Caroline Brinson (UGA) vs. #60 Christina Rosca (VANDY) 6-2, 3-6, 1-0, unfinished

Not only Emma, Rosca is also doing well. VU recruited well for this season.

5. Emma Kurtz (VANDY) def. #111 Marta Gonzalez (UGA) 6-1, 6-4
6. Fernanda Contreras (VANDY) def. Mariana Gould (UGA) 6-0, 6-4

Winning lower positions was probably decisive for VU.

Doubles competition

It seems that many teams are now experimenting the lineup and those two teams are no exception(only Stanford usually sticks to its original lineup).

1. Ellen Perez/Caroline Brinson (UGA) def. #32 Astra Sharma/Emily Smith (VANDY) 6-4
2. Elena Christofi/Kennedy Shaffer (UGA) vs. Emma Kurtz/Sydney Campbell (VANDY) 5-6, unfinished
3. Marta Gonzalez/Mariana Gould (UGA) def. Fernanda Contreras/Christina Rosca (VANDY) 7-6 (7-3)
