Birding Focus: Kennesaw Mountain is the premier migrant hotspot in the southeast. We'll be looking for migrating flycatchers, vireos, thrushes, warblers, tanagers, and grosbeaks. Walk is about 2.5 miles total. Bring water and snacks. Restrooms are available in the Visitor Center; restrooms are open beginning at 7:30 am. All levels are welcome. There is a free bird checklist specifically for the park available upon request in the Visitor Center. For more information, please call 770-427-4686 x0 between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm.

Directions and parking: From I-75, take Exit 269 (Barrett Pkwy.). Turn west onto Barrett Pkwy. Drive 2 miles, then turn left at the stoplight onto Old Hwy. 41. Parking Lot #2 will be on your right along Old Hwy. 41 (after one mile). Please park here and follow the trail to the Visitor Center where the field trip will begin. The park has school field trips that visit the park on Thursdays and they have asked us to carpool when possible and to park in the "overflow lot", i.e. Parking Lot #2 on Old Hwy. 41. Please be considerate of their request. GPS of parking lot: N 33 59.127 W 84 34.852.
