Volynets and Crawley at the Clay National

Both have been doing quite well this year( didn't V win Florida tournaments late last year as well).

And Katie, a North Californian, proved that she could handle unfamiliar adverse weather, impressive(withdrawals galore at this tournament, it really seems quite bad). Equally impressive win against bigger Gauff, overcoming the pressure as upperclassmen. Truly the Little Giant.

Girls' 18 Singles (Draw Line - 81)
F (13) Katie Volynets d. (2) Abigail Forbes 6-2; 6-2
SF (13) Katie Volynets d. (17) Cori Gauff 6-2; 6-2
Q (13) Katie Volynets d. (17) Addison Guevara 6-1; 6-2
16 (13) Katie Volynets d. (17) Amber O'Dell 6-1; 6-1
32 (13) Katie Volynets d. (17) Dasha Kourkina 6-1; 6-2
64 (13) Katie Volynets d. (33) Delara Zamani 6-1; 6-3
128 (13) Katie Volynets d. Emily Dunbar 6-4; 6-3

Didn't lose a set, effectively dispatching the opponents. Didn't meet any higher seed until the final though.

F (1) Fiona Crawley d. (2) Ruth Marsh 6-4; 3-6; 6-2
SF (1) Fiona Crawley d. (8) Julia Andreach 6-2; 6-7(2); 6-2
Q (1) Fiona Crawley d. (5) Karina Miller 6-1; 6-2
16 (1) Fiona Crawley d. Demi Snyder 6-3; 6-1

64 (1) Fiona Crawley d. (33) Merri Kelly 6-1; 6-1
128 (1) Fiona Crawley d. Gabriella Dellacono 6-1; 6-3

Kung and Collins won singles consolation.

Sassoli/Shrivastava winning is no surprise. Weil/Wu reaching the final is(dunno them!). Weil is from Ohio, Wu, NJ.
