2017 National] G18 singles 8/6

That Baptiste guy again stalked me at Barnes, but just ignored him and told him to go away(fly seating gesture!). Sorry Deming's sister had to witness that unsavory scene. Next time I'm going straight to the tournament desk and demand them to do something about it. Already reported via email.

Surprise guests were first, the Manasses! Maegan had her right arm on a sling but said it's healing. Real glad to see them again.

Next, the new Tulane coaches! I think I heard coach Brito going there but was shocked to discover Keri Wong going there as well! She said she settled? there 2 days ago. She didn't know I was at the ACC tournament! I thought she recognized me there lol. Again, real nice to see them.

Finally, made another acquaintance. One at Fed Cup, now at Barnes on the first day! Thank ye.

New Oklahoma St. asst coach; the orange color just seems awkward on her..yet lol. Of course said hello.

Oh, LUISA STEFANI is rejoining the team on January, heard straight from coach Niilson.  Taking the Fall off to play pro tournaments I guess. Maybe she'll play Freeman again(if Pepperdine again participates). Pepperdine really seems to be a contender next year then.

Tons of coaches at Barnes, even both UCLA coaches came by, never seen them come so early? They at least both watched Pielet vs Ma match.

Who was that former pro(Romanian?) again.

A girl was wearing an Auburn t shirt, and she wasn't tall(means she's not Meredith lol. Meredith seems to have withdrawn?).

First parked at the street and went to SDSU; many coaches were there including Ohio State and Wisconsin(both coaches, former stars McKenna and Falcon).
And, was that Megan Moulton-Levy?

Is this the first time, or not. Every match had umpires. And Barnes stadium now has a shaded bleacher seat on the baseline side as well.

256 (33) Sonia Tartakovsky d. Allison Mulville 6-4; 6-0

I thought the match was pretty even? Dunno what happened in the 2nd, too bad I missed it.

256 Ellie Wright d. Julia Pham 6-4; 6-1

256 Jayci Goldsmith d. Jennifer Gadalov 6-3; 6-4

Good match. In-form Goldsmith was maybe too good. But it was not without trying on Gadalov's part. She was actually quite powerful in the 2nd set, especially on the bh side, was surprised. Could certainly pressure Goldsmith with her aggression. Goldsmith did well to consolidate the win. Not only sharp drives: overhead, net approach volley, all good. Tech coach watched this.

256 REGINA PITTS d. (33) Vanessa Streng 6-4; 4-6; 7-6

256 Naomi Cheong d. Michelle Bacalla 6-2; 6-1

Nice to see Cheong again. Disciplined flat fh drives. Just saw a bit.

256 Emma Decoste d. Jessica Tsukiji 6-2; 6-3

Likewise, haven't seen Decoste for a while. Tsukiji was not bad, had good variety, approaching the net. She made the play of the day, managed to return a very high bouncing ball, hitting on the bh side; stretched high, and hit back with a mere flick of a wrist, very difficult to do.

256 (33) Kolie Allen d. Tayvia Yamagata 6-1; 6-0

Yamagata sliced quite well.

256 Sarah Wilcox d. megan polnet 6-2; 6-2

Thought this was a quality match. The taller girl wasn't afraid of the net, and volleyed quite well, too. The smaller girl passed well.

256 Emily Dunbar d. Neha Gupta 6-1; 6-0
256 (33) Andrea Cerdan d. Lindsay Song 6-3; 6-1
256 Ava Markham d. Michelle Deng 6-0; 6-2

256 Alee Clayton d. Jasie Dunk 6-4; 6-1

Both were tall(I did see them play before), just couldn't tell who was who lol. Sound net approaches.

256 (33) Grace Joyce d. Adrienne Vesely 6-1; 6-0

Saw a bit.

256 Chloe Chu d. Sidnee Lavatai 6-3; 6-0

Is Lavatai the tall girl? Was actually impressed with her firepower. Didn't lack variety either.  Chu did well to return those attacks.

256 Solymar Colling d. Valerie Ho 4-6; 6-2; 6-3

Just saw a bit. Ho must be good.

256 Abigail Desiatnikov d. (33) Sophia Reddy 6-2; 6-1

Naturally concentrated on this star court(#4) match. Nice to see both again. D's bh seemed a bit unstable. Was mainly on the offensive, employing angles, etc. Was impressed with Reddy's defense, she really moved and returned well; hence many long points.

256 Melissa LaMette d. Maggie Pate 7-6; 6-3
256 Kiersten Carlson d. Anya Lamoreaux 6-1; 2-6; 6-3
256 (33) Sophia Graver d. Madison Hwang 6-3; 6-2
256 Mary Profit d. Dilara Spicer 6-3; 6-0
256 MARIA ADIACONITEI d. Miranda Bishard 7-6(2); 4-6; 6-3

256 (33) Maeve Koscielski d. Julia Haynes 7-6(3); 6-0

Eh? Could be an upset, but K did play well during Fed Cup.

256 Delara Zamani d. Sydney Weinberg 6-2; 6-2
256 Hailey Wilcox d. Sarah Pertsemlidis 6-4; 6-0
256 (33) Amber O'Dell d. Emily Dush 6-1; 6-1
256 Jasmine Rich d. JolinaSue Paradela 7-6(4); 6-1

256 Alana Smith d. Alessandra Bianco 6-1; 6-1

Smith must've played well.

256 (33) Jessi Muljat d. Madeline Doherty 6-2; 6-3
256 Tara Veluvolu d. Emily Casati 6-2; 2-6; 7-5
256 Casey Accola d. Emma Cartledge 6-2; 2-6; 6-2
256 (33) Rena Lin d. Sarah Bahsoun 6-0; 6-3
256 Julieanne Bou d. Julia Newman 7-6(6); 6-4
256 Haley Giavara d. Katya Hersh 6-2; 6-3
256 (33) Natasha Subhash d. Katherine Fleischman 6-2; 6-0

256 Luba Vasilyuk d. Kylie Duckworth 7-5; 6-4

T seemed pretty good.

256 (33) Danielle Willson d. Anna Alons 6-4; 6-4

256 Isabella DiLaura d. Paulina Ferrari 1-6; 7-6(4); 6-2

Probably an upset.

 256 Elvina Kalieva d. Callie Creath 6-7(4); 6-3; 6-2

Creath was quite good, went on the offensive lots of times. The points were long. Good luck to Kalieva tomorrow.

256 (33) Jennifer Kerr d. Julia Pezzuco 6-0; 6-2
256 Peyton Pesavento d. MariaFernanda Campos 6-1; 7-5

256 Alexandria Mjos d. Kristina Evloeva 6-4; 6-4

Mjos was good. Evloeva as usual? showed nice variety, drop shotting, etc. Also hit well, but M was probably a bit more solid.

256 (33) Tatum Burger d. Elena Van Linge 6-4; 6-2

VL's condition seemed good, using variety to good effect, but ultimately, Burger was just too good a hitter. Really hit well.

256 Somer Henry d. Anna Li 6-1; 6-4

Forgot to look this up, just saw Henry play a bit that's all.

256 Drew Randle d. Tiffany Pyritz 5-7; 6-4; 6-1

256 (33) Salma Ewing d. Anna Smith 3-6; 6-3; 6-2

Saw a bit of 1st set. Impressed with Smith. Lefty, very good variety, good movement. On the run passing shot winner, good dtl drive, slice and lob combo: did she even applaud Ewing's nice play?

256 Dalayna Hewitt d. Alyssia Fossorier 6-2; 6-1

256 Raissa Lou d. Mimi Levine 7-5; 6-3

Upset.

Upset of the day? Should check LaBiche tomorrow, plays Emma.

I'm not sure I recognized Richards lol. Maybe glimpsed this match.
