2017 National] G18 singles 8/7

Kylie McKenzie has shoulder injury, too bad.
Forgot to mention Marcus.
KK came.
Jamea Jackson spotted.
MVP spotted.
'Tourist' Hand haha(Clarissa). Too bad she also withdrew in doubles. Didn't know they were such good friends, her and Jones.
Anna Sanford! Naturally chatted a bit.

I couldn't go out, tried multiple times but whenever I did, that psycho dad materialized from nowhere lol. So had to turn back to safety. Was dying of hunger(had lunch in my car)!

More coaches; UCSB, Vandy, UNC, Stanford(naturally? watched Ninja play), TAMU, etc..

128 (2) Claire Liu d. Kathy Wang 6-0; 6-0
128 (33) Sonia Tartakovsky d. Ellie Wright 6-1; 6-2

128 Jayci Goldsmith d. (17) Carolyn Campana 6-3; 6-3

Coach Weaver must be smiling. Am being impressed again and again watching Goldsmith play lol. Beating Campana with that scoreline? So good. So solid.  Campana is a damn good player...methinks Goldsmith really improved.

128 Naomi Cheong d. REGINA PITTS 6-0; 6-0

That's an impressive scoreline.

128 (15) Abigail Forbes d. Emma Decoste 6-1; 6-1

Only could glimpse a bit.

128 (33) Kolie Allen d. Sarah Wilcox 6-2; 4-6; 6-2

This was neverending.

128 (17) Cali Jankowski d. Emily Dunbar 7-5; 6-2

D wasn't bad, only glimpsed a bit.

128 (33) Andrea Cerdan d. Ava Markham 6-4; 4-6; 6-0

Markham must be good.

128 (8) Whitney Osuigwe d. Alee Clayton 6-1; 6-0

128 (33) Grace Joyce d. Chloe Chu 6-3; 6-7(1); 6-2

Not an easy win, just watched a bit, but Chu played well. Joyce had to attack repeatedly to win points. You know who was rooting for Joyce, as usual.

128 (17) McCartney Kessler d. Solymar Colling 6-2; 6-2

Watched a bit of the start. Colling definitely could put K on the defensive with her sharp drives.

128 Abigail Desiatnikov d. Melissa LaMette 6-2; 6-2
128 (16) Chelsea Kung d. Kiersten Carlson 6-0; 6-1
128 (33) Sophia Graver d. Mary Profit 7-5; 6-2
128 (17) Katie Volynets d. MARIA ADIACONITEI 6-1; 6-0
128 Delara Zamani d. (33) Maeve Koscielski 6-4; 6-0
128 (3) Ashley Kratzer d. Hailey Wilcox 6-3; 6-2

128 (33) Amber O'Dell d. Jasmine Rich 6-0; 6-0

Score doesn't do Rich justice. Just watched a bit of the 1st.

128 (17) Marlee Zein d. Alana Smith 6-4; 7-5

Smith was good, quite powerful, had nice variety(drop shot disguise)..definitely a good win by Zein.

128 (33) Jessi Muljat d. Tara Veluvolu 6-2; 4-6; 6-2

128 (13) Elysia Bolton d. Casey Accola 6-2; 6-0
128 (33) Rena Lin d. Julieanne Bou 7-6(5); 6-2

128 Haley Giavara d. (17) Samantha Martinelli 7-6(3); 6-1

Eh? Too bad, couldn't watch since this match was being played close to Baptiste match.

128 (33) Natasha Subhash d. Jamie Schroer 6-0; 6-0

128 (6) Michaela Gordon d. Emily Strande 6-2; 6-2

S seemed to hit quite well.

128 (33) Toni Nelson d. Luba Vasilyuk Wo (inj)

128 (17) Alana Wolfberg d. Sydney Jones 6-1; 6-2

Wolfberg was more impressive today, than Fed Cup. Could attack the sidelines, etc. Not a good day for Jones, condition didn't seem too good. committed a tad too many errors.

128 (33) Danielle Willson d. Isabella DiLaura 6-2; 6-1

D seemed pretty solid.

128 Elvina Kalieva d. (14) Hailey Baptiste 2-6; 6-3; 6-2

When I saw Kalieva holding 3 balls near the clubhouse(after the match, means of course she won)...she definitely made my day lol. I didn't think she could actually pull it off...!

128 (33) Jennifer Kerr d. Peyton Pesavento 6-3; 6-3

Watched a bit. Looking forward to WF doubles. P as I remember isn't a bad player.

128 (17) Stephanie Schrage d. Alexandria Mjos 6-0; 6-4

Quite impressed with Mjos. Her net approach volleys were great! Despite her size...Schrage really had to play well to beat her.

128 (33) Tatum Burger d. Somer Henry 6-2; 4-6; 7-5

Nice to see Henry play again. She's a solid player, so not a big surprise imo. Played quite well so the points were long in the 2nd.

128 (33) Salma Ewing d. Drew Randle 6-0; 6-0

128 Dalayna Hewitt d. (17) Rachel Lim 6-2; 6-3

Lim seems to have good fundamental. Hewitt, what can a say. La Bomba! Da Bomb. Erratic as hell lol, but so powerful and could change pace as well.

128 (33) Lexi Keberle d. Raissa Lou 6-4; 6-1

128 (9) Taylor Johnson d. Katherine Earnhardt 6-1; 6-4

Ninja of the West showed exquisite touch. E sliced quite well methinks. Just watched a bit.

128 (33) victoria hu d. Gabriella Cusano 6-1; 6-1
128 (17) Anika Yarlagadda d. Sarah Campbell 6-0; 6-0
128 (33) Katherine Nguyen d. Imani Graham 6-4; 6-2

128 (5) Ashley Lahey d. Peyton Stearns 4-6; 6-4; 6-2

Not a surprise of course. Didn't I hype Stearns...lol. Stearns' power put Lahey on the defensive tons of times. And Lahey was one of the best #2 singles player in the nation last season(beating Neel, etc.). What Lahey can do, Stearns can do as well, approach volleys, strong serve...but too erratic overall. Not dissimilar to another Midwestern power player, doubles partner Hewitt...haha.
Nice jumping backhand. Did she even perform a leg-thru?!

128 Victoria Emma d. Lily LaBiche 6-2; 4-6; 6-0

L was quite good! Rather petite, but returned serve well, served strongly, applauded Emma, even twirled the racquet exquisitely haha. Emma once drop shotted, and L managed to reach it and pass it, quite a play. Emma's angled drive + net approach combo was effective.

128 (17) Anna Brylin d. Jennifer Richards 6-2; 6-3
128 (33) Maia Sung d. Madeline Almeida 6-0; 6-4
128 (12) caty mcnally d. Maja Pietrowicz 6-0; 6-3
128 (33) Janice Shin d. Slade Coetzee 6-2; 6-0
128 (17) Ivana Corley d. Nicole Conard 6-4; 7-5
128 Jessica Anzo d. (33) Mia Rabinowitz 6-4; 6-0

128 (4) Maria Mateas d. Christina Hand 6-0; 6-1

Just watched a bit. Hand sliced well. Maybe Mateas was just too powerful.

128 (33) Sophia Patel d. Nicole Roc 6-1; 6-3
128 (17) Hannah Zhao d. Mackenzie Clark 6-4; 6-3
128 Annalise Klopfer d. Jingyi Peng 6-2; 6-1
128 (11) Ellie Douglas d. Priyanka Mitta 6-0; 6-1
128 (33) Kelly Chen d. Madeline Lamoreaux 6-1; 6-2
128 (17) Sara Choy d. Mira Gladstone 6-1; 6-0
128 (33) Julia Deming d. Josie Frazier Wo (inj)

128 (7) Alexandra Sanford d. Sophia Edwards 7-6(5); 7-6(4)

Sanford was in a ballbashing mode, hence the long match. Committed tons of errors, but you gotta give Edwards credit; managed to return those massive serves and drives, with all her might. As befitting a Sportsmanship Award winner lol, applauded Sanford as well. Was too busy returning, Sanford drop shotted effectively at times.

128 (33) Amanda Meyer d. Lauren Lemonds 6-2; 6-2
128 (17) Alyvia Jones d. Samantha Mannix 6-2; 6-0
128 (33) Niluka Madurawe d. Lauren Dunlap 6-0; 6-1
128 (10) Ann Li d. Dominique Stone 6-0; 6-0
128 Maryann Rompf d. Maria Santilli 6-0; 6-4
128 (17) Rachel Eason d. Thea Rice 6-0; 7-6
128 (33) Julia Lilien d. Julia Adams 3-6; 6-2; 7-6
128 (1) Usue Arconada d. Alexandra Vesikallio 6-0; 6-1
